Bridging The Gap

Bridging the Gap was an intergenerational project based in Branston, a small village in Lincolnshire that took place during spring 2012. The project aimed to tackle stigma and stereotypes across the age divide and bring the community together through positive activity. Young people took the lead on this project under the mentorship of practitioners from Shooting Fish Theatre Company who managed the project and Blueprint: Foundation who worked alongside Shooting Fish to deliver the multimedia aspect of this project.

We facilitated photography workshops to recreate old photos of the village in a modern context and editing workshops to teach young people how to use editing software and employ creative editing techniques. These workshops culminated in helping the young people curate a multimedia exhibition combining the photos and our edited footage of oral history gathered from elderly residents in the village.
