Japan FestivalFunding Body/Client: Japan Society
Goals: To increase knowledge and awareness of Japanese culture in Lincoln

Project Overview

The Festival of Japanese Culture was a celebration showcasing Japanese film, music, art, food and much more. Blueprint: Film managed the event to celebrate Japanese Culture and share it with the Lincolnshire community. With funding aid from the Japan Society we were able to secure the newly opened Venue cinema at Bishop Grosseteste University College.

The main event hosted the screening of two films alongside artists, musicians, traditional martial arts, food and drink. The finale was the screening of Pigs and Battleships accompanied by a talk from acclaimed Japanese cinema expert, Jasper Sharp.

In the week leading up to the Festival there was also an exhibition of Japanese inspired art from local Japanese artist Kaoru Shimada.

The event was a great success and Blueprint plan to make it a regular part of Lincoln’s cultural calendar.
