Using photography to inspire individuals to become involved with local history

We’ve been asked by Community First to work with unemployed people living in the Abbey Ward of Lincoln, with the aim of enhancing their research skills and teaching them photography techniques. The programme will culminate in a photography exhibition where period photos of Lincoln will be fused in various ways with modern photographs taken by the group, as well as improving employment prospects for participants by improving their self-belief and confidence.

Their work will be showcased in an exhibition in late December at the Abbey Access Centre, allowing the community to become involved in this niche project that celebrates Lincoln’s history.

So far the group has been taking some pretty impressive shots; you can have a look at a test photograph below, demonstrating how the fused photographs will appear:

See It Make It

Following a successful pilot last year, Into Film’s See It, Make It project is returning this winter, aiming to support 200 Into Film Clubs to kick start filmmaking programmes.

Blueprint are thrilled to be involved with this project in January 2015, working with 4 groups scattered between Boston, Spalding and West Walton.

We will be delivering  a number of theoretical and practical filmmaking lessons, teaching the participants about the details of the film production process, and eventually producing a short film with each group.

We can’t wait to see what these young filmmakers will create.
